With the radial direction of compression, the sealing element is pressed perpendicular to the axis, e.g. in a piston seal.
With the axial direction of compression, the sealing element is pressed in the axial direction, e.g. in the case of a cover or flange seal.

Please select whether the medium to be sealed is liquid (hydraulic) or gaseous (pneumatic).
The type of medium is taken into account when designing the O-ring.

Resting sealing surfaces (e.g. cover seals) are static applications.
Moving sealing surfaces (e.g. rotating or translational movement) are dynamic applications.
An application with pressure pulsations with resting sealing surfaces is rated as a "static" application.

Please select the position of the groove.
For an outside-sealing O-ring, the groove is positioned in the shaft or in the piston: "groove in shaft".
In the case of an inside-sealing O-ring, the groove is positioned in the housing / bore: "Groove in bore".

Please select whether the sealing element is mounted in the bore or on the shaft.
In the case of two-part open grooves, the ring can be mounted both in the bore and on the shaft.

Any values for the O-ring dimensions can be entered here (ring inner diameter d1 and ring cord thickness d2). The tolerances are in accordance with ISO 3601 with tolerance class B.
