Various elastomer materials are available for the O-rings, e.g. NBR, EPDM, FKM, etc. You should use the right material for your application, depending on the contact media, because otherwise the incompatibility of the material with the contact media could lead to failures.
Please indicate here up to three media which may come into contact with the sealing element. The Material Assistant will recommend suitable materials.

Depending on the material, the elastomer materials can only be used in certain temperature ranges. Please enter the min. and max. temperature of your application. The Material Assistant will recommend suitable materials.

Please enter the maximum pressure of your application and the maximum centric gap width. If an eccentricity is present (shaft is not centered to the bore, only for radial designs), please enter the maximum possible eccentric gap width.

Resting sealing surfaces (e.g. cover seals) are static applications.
Moving sealing surfaces (e.g. rotating or translational movement) are dynamic applications.
An application with pressure pulsations with resting sealing surfaces is rated as a "static" application.
